Inside Santa Maria sopra Minerva is the Risen Christ, begun by Michelangelo and finished by another sculptor in 1521. In front of the church stands this strange-looking monument
designed by Bernini.  An ancient Eqyptian obeslisk, excavated on the site, sits atop
a marble elephant.
