Corridoio Vasariano (Vasari's Corridor) was built to allow the Medici family to walk between their various palaces without mixing with the people in the streets below. The interior of the elevated corridor is lined with hundreds of works of arts. Here it exits the Uffizi, makes a turn down the river front street, and crosses the Arno River on the Ponte Vecchio (at left).

The Ponte Vecchio is the oldest bridge in Florence and the only one
to survive World War II.
